Welcome to Penewin Stables

Penewin was established in 2000.  It is a family run riding school in Cornwall offering riding experiences for all ages and abilities.

I had ridden since I was a child, but never thought it possible to work with horses!  I was in my thirties and had my four children before I took any BHS exams.  I am now BHSII and a stable manager.  My children all still ride and compete as well as all the other sports and activities that kids seem to do.  My long suffering husband is a GP and does not ride – he escapes to his boat whenever he can!

At Penewin we want people to really enjoy horses.  As well as having a super team of teaching staff, we also have lovely horses.  We encourage people to take exams, compete, and improve their riding all the time and sometimes take special hacks out on the moor – or have a breakfast ride if you are an early morning person.

Pony Club

We are a pony club centre.  This means children and young adults can join the national pony club without owning their own pony.

Every Thursday evening between 5pm and 7pm we run a pony club session and members can earn badges as they learn stable management and riding.

We also run a pony club camp during the summer holidays when members can sleep over and own a horse for their time in camp and go cross country schooling etc.

Also we send teams to compete against other pony clubs – at dressage, eventing and show jumping.  Just ask any member of staff if you are interested.
