Showjumping at the Duchy

A big well done to everyone who competed at the Duchy college yesterday, we had some good results and the horses all had a good day out. Hopefully we’ll be able to do something like this again, maybe some hunter trials in the summer, so look out for them.

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas this year, and thank you to everyone who came to help on Christmas day. We hope that everyone is looking forward to the new year, which should be an exciting one for all of us. Well done to the pony club people on their excellent display on Christmas Eve, and thank you for joining in with the carol singing those who went.

A big congratulations to everybody who passed their C and D+ tests last week, and a very big well done to Shakira for winning the Smokey memorial trophy for most improved rider, and Olga, for winning the Spike memorial trophy for most improved adult.

As some of you may have seen, the barn is finally re-stocked, and Eleanor and Sophie will be running it, so many thanks to them.

Finally, if anyone want tickets to the riding club dinner dance, please ask Helen, thouh she is in South Africa over this coming week, tickets are £22, and its a good evening for all.

You may hve noticed that the website now has a new video gadget, and it would be great if any of you have any of your own videos of Penewin horses or riders that you would be willing to have on the website. HORSES FOR SALE

Part of my plan is to keep a couple of horses to bring on and sell – and at the moment we still have a couple of riding school ponies looking for owners.

Teddy – The perfect first or second pony, 7 years old, easy to do in every way – £1200

Fergus – 9 years old, practically perfect in every way, ideal family horse, happy to go competing as well. £3000 and I would welcome him as a working livery.

Alfie – Rising five – gelding, quality skewbald gelding. Another ideal family horse, perfect to hack and learning how to do dressage! Quiet to handle in every way and in traffic. Also would be welcomed as working livery. £3000

Stardust – Rising five years, pretty bay mare, works well on the flat, truly amazing jump both xc and show jumping. Wants competition home. Lovely to handle and hacks alone and in company. £4900

Prince Philip

A huge well done to our two prince philip teams who competed this weekend, the junior team came a brilliant thrid place, and the seniors came seventh, both fantastic achievements. Thankyou to everyone who took part, especially to Rachel for organising the teams!

Stockland Lovell and Country Canter

A big well done to Jester and Morwenna today for coming 7th in the BE100 U18 class, and also to Flame and Biz, for coming 8th in Flame’s fisrt proper novice, Banana also competed in the novice and came 15th, so a good day indeed.

As well as Stockland Lovell, it was the country canter today, and it seems that everybody had a good time on the Port Elliot estate.
